Behnam has collaborated with some of the most celebrated Iranian musicians, including Faramarz Payvar, Houshang Zarif, Rahmatollah Badiei, Hossein Alizadeh, and Kayhan Kalhor. He has also extensively toured worldwide, collaborating and performing with many distinguished international musicians, in prestigious festivals and venues in Europe, the US, Americas, Africa, Middle East, and China.
Deeply rooted in rhythms of classical, Sufi cloister, and regional folk music of Iran and their percussion techniques, Behnam’s style, particularly on tombak, reflects a harmonious blend of Western and broader Eastern influences.
